SunRice is tied to local communities through employees, farmers, customers, consumers, government and community groups.

SunRice is involved in a range of community programs that aim to make a positive contribution by meeting people’s basic nutrition needs, or by supporting activities and initiatives that are good for the environment or a community’s health and wellbeing.

In Australia, we have a proud tradition of sponsoring the Leeton SunRice Festival, which recognises the important role of the rice industry in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. We have been involved in this fantastic event for over 40 years.

We also support the Deniliquin Ute Muster, the Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia’s Annual Conference, and a range of equine riders through our CopRice division.

In collaboration with the Riverina rice industry, SunRice has donated more than 22 million serves of rice to hunger relief charity Foodbank, since the partnership started in 2002. These donations are disseminated to a variety of frontline charities serving both metro and country communities, including a number across the Riverina, to help thousands of struggling Australians. In addition, SunRice supports Foodbank’s annual ‘Shop & Share’ retail campaign.

We also proudly sponsor the ‘Ag Bag’ at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The Ag Bag features SunRice products and other goodies donated by fellow Australian agricultural companies, with proceeds raised to support rural communities.

In Papua New Guinea, Trukai Industries has supported the Trukai Olympic Fun Run for almost 20 years, bringing together more than 67,000 people and helping to raise funds for the development of local athletes.

In the United States, SunFoods assists local communities at the grassroots level, with sponsorship of high school sporting teams, and the Los Angeles Marathon and San Francisco Earth Day events.
